My Plan for Border Security
My plan to secure the border and halting illegal immigration is as follows:
Step One: Build a fence on our southern AND northern border. Deploy National Guard troops to patrol trouble spots along the border and deputize them so they have the ability to arrest illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants who attempt to cross the border should be photographed, fingerprinted and not allowed to reenter the country for a period of ten years.
Step Two: Get the government to go after companies which employ illegal immigrants. This will send a message to companies that employing illegals will no longer be tolerated. This will also influence American businesses to use American labor. This will also send a message to foreigners: "If you are here illegally, there will be no work."
Step Three: Restrict all benefits/ services to illegal immigrants. This means no public education, no welfare, no social security, no driversâ licenses, no free healthcare (see next sentence), etc. We should also cease the practice of sending money obtained on welfare back to a recipient's country of origin. Any child of illegal immigrants born in the United States should not be given citizenship. The only service that illegal immigrants should receive is emergency medical care if they are hit by a car and are bleeding to death or something along those lines.
Step Four: Make coming to America easier (i.e. cut the red tape out of the entire immigration process). We should be able to process the paperwork more quickly and we should do our best to shorten the long waiting process.
Step Five: Make it harder to become a citizen. This means a harder test in American government, American history and English competence. We need to make American citizenship something that has to be worked for and something to be proud of.
When we send a message that illegal immigration is truly illegal and that to become an American is more than collecting a welfare check then the problems we have with illegal immigration will be mitigated.
